«The sabotage of the Nord Stream (NS) and Nord Stream 2 (NS2) pipelines in the Baltic Sea has ominously propelled 'Disaster Capitalism' to a whole new, toxic level.

This episode of Hybrid Industrial/Commercial War, in the form of a terror attack against energy infrastructure in international waters signals the absolute collapse of international law, drowned by a “our way or the highway”, “rules-based”, order.

The attack on both pipelines consisted of multiple explosive charges detonated in separate branches close to the Danish island of Bornholm, but in international waters.  

That was a sophisticated operation, carried out in stealth in the shallow depth of the Danish straits. That would in principle rule out submarines (ships entering the Baltic are limited to a draught of 15 meters). As for prospective “invisible” vessels, these could only loiter around with permission from Copenhagen – as the waters around Borholm are crammed with sensors, reflecting fear of incursion by Russian submarines.  

Swedish seismologists registered two underwater explosions on Monday – one of them estimated at 100 kg of TNT. Yet as much as 700 kg may have been used to blow up three separate pipeline nodes. Such amount could not have possibly been delivered in just one trip by underwater drones currently available in neighboring nations. 

The pressure on the pipelines dropped exponentially. The pipes are now filled with seawater.

The pipes on both NS and NS2 can be repaired, of course, but hardly before the arrival of General Winter. The question is whether Gazprom – already focused on several hefty Eurasian customers -  would bother, especially considering that Gazprom vessels could be exposed to a possible NATO naval attack in the Baltic.

German officials are already spinning that NS and NS2 can “potentially” be out of commission “forever”. The EU economy and EU citizens badly needed that gas supply. Yet the EUrocracy in Brussels – which rules over nation-states – would not follow, because they have been dictated themselves by the Empire of Chaos, Lies and Plunder. A case can be made that this Euro-oligarchy should one day be tried for treason.

As it stands, a strategic irreversibility is already self-evident; the population of several EU nations will pay a tremendous price and suffer serious consequences derived from this attack, short, medium and long term.  

Cui bono? 

Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson admitted that was “a matter of sabotage”. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen admitted “it was not an accident”. Berlin agrees with the Scandinavians.

Now compare it with former Polish Defense Minister (2005-2007) Radek Sikorski, a Russophobe married to rabid US “analyst” Anne Applebaum, who merrily tweeted “Thank you, USA”.

It gets curiouser and curiouser when we know that simultaneously to the sabotage the Baltic Pipe from Norway to Poland was partially opened, a “new gas supply corridor” servicing “the Danish and Polish markets”: actually a minor affair, considering months ago their sponsors were in trouble finding gas, and now it will be even harder, with much higher costs.

NS2 had already been attacked – in the open - all along its construction. Back in February, Polish ships actively tried to prevent the Fortuna pipe-laying vessel from finishing NS2. The pipes were being laid south of – you guessed it – Bornholm.

NATO for its part has been very active on the underwater drones department. The Americans have access to long distance Norwegian underwater drones which can be modified with other designs. Alternatively, professional navy clearance divers could have been employed in the sabotage – even as tidal currents around Bornholm are a serious matter.

The Big Picture reveals the collective West in absolute panic, with Atlanticist “elites” willing to resort to anything – outrageous lies, assassinations, terrorism, sabotage, all out financial war, support to neo-Nazis – to prevent their descent into a geopolitical and geoeconomic abyss. 

Disabling NS and NS2 represents the definitive closure of any possibility of a German-Russia deal on gas supplies, with the added benefit of relegating Germany to the lowly status of absolute US vassal.

So that brings us to the key question of which Western intel apparatus designed the sabotage. Prime candidates are of course CIA and MI6 – with Poland set up as the fall guy and Denmark playing a very dodgy part: it’s impossible that Copenhagen was not at least “briefed” on the intel.

Prescient as ever, as early as in April 2021 Russians were asking questions about the military security of Nord Stream.

The crucial vector is that we may be facing the case of a EU/NATO member involved in an act of sabotage against the number one EU/NATO economy. That’s a casus belli. Outside of the appalling mediocrity and cowardice of the current administration in Berlin, it’s clear that the BND – German intel – as well as the German Navy and informed industrialists sooner or later will do the math.  

This was far from an isolated attack. On September 22 there was an attempt against Turkish Stream by Kiev saboteurs. The day before, naval drones with English language IDs were found in Crimea, suspected of being part of the plot. Add to it US helicopters overflying the future sabotage nodes weeks ago; a UK “research” vessel loitering in Danish waters since mid-September; and NATO tweeting about the testing of "new unmanned systems at sea" on the same day of the sabotage.

Show me the (gas) money

The Danish Minister of Defense met urgently with NATO’s Secretary General this Wednesday. After all the explosions happened very close to Denmark’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ). That may be qualified as crude kabuki at best; exactly on the same day, the European Commission (EC), NATO’s de facto political office, advanced its trademark obsession: more sanctions against Russia, including the certified-to-fail cap on oil prices.

Meanwhile, EU energy giants are bound to lose big time with the sabotage.

The roll call includes the German Wintershall Dea AG and PEG/ E.ON; the Dutch N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie; and the French ENGIE. Then there are those which financed NS2: Wintershall Dea again as well as Uniper; Austrian OMV; ENGIE again; and British-Dutch Shell. Wintershall Dea and ENGIE are both co-owners and creditors. Their fuming shareholders will want serious answers from a serious investigation.

It gets worse: there are no holds barred anymore on the Pipeline Terror front. Russia will be on red alert not only for Turk Stream but also Power of Siberia. Same for the Chinese and their maze of pipelines arriving in Xinjiang.

Whatever the methodology and the actors who were in the loop, this is payback – in advance - for the inevitable collective West defeat in Ukraine. And a crude warning to the Global South that they will do it again. Yet action always breeds reaction: from now on, “funny things” could also happen to US/UK pipelines in international waters.

The EU oligarchy is reaching an advanced process of disintegration at lightning speed. Their window of opportunity to at least attempt a role as a strategically autonomous geopolitical actor is now closed.

These EUROcrats now face a serious predicament. Once it’s clear who are the perpetrators of the sabotage in the Baltic, and once they understand all the life-changing socio-economic consequences for pan-EU citizens, the kabuki will have to stop. Including the already running, uber-ridiculous subplot that Russia blew up its own pipeline when Gazprom could simply have turned off the valves for good. 

And once again, it gets worse: Gazprom is threatening to sue the Ukrainian energy company Naftofgaz for unpaid bills. That would lead to the end of Russian gas transiting Ukraine towards the EU.  

As if all of that was not serious enough, Germany is contractually obligated to purchase at least 40 billion cubic meters of Russian gas a year until 2030.

Just say no? They can’t: Gazprom is legally entitled to get paid even without shipping gas. That’s the spirit of a long-term contract. And it's already happening: because of sanctions, Berlin does not get all the gas it needs but still needs to pay.

All the devils are here

Now it's painfully clear the imperial velvet gloves are off when it comes to the vassals. EU independence: verboten. Cooperation with China: verboten. Independent trade connectivity with Asia: verboten. The only place for the EU is to be economically subjugated to the US: a tawdry remix of 1945-1955. With a perverse neoliberal twist: we will own your industrial capacity, and you will have nothing.

The sabotage of NS and NS2 is inbuilt in the imperial wet dream of breaking up the Eurasian land mass into a thousand pieces to prevent a trans-Eurasia consolidation between Germany (representing the EU), Russia and China: $50 trillion in GDP, based on purchasing power parity (PPP) compared to the US’s $20 trillion. 

We must go back to Mackinder: control of the Eurasian land mass constitutes control of the world. American elites and their Trojan Horses across Europe will do whatever it takes not to give up their control.

“American elites” in this context encompass the deranged, Straussian neo-con-infested “intel community” and the Big Energy, Big Pharma and Big Finance that pays them and who profits not only from the Deep State’s Forever War approach but also wants to make a killing out of the Davos-concocted Great Reset.

The Raging Twenties started with a murder – of Gen Soleimani. Blowing up pipelines is part of the sequel. There will be a highway to hell all the way to 2030. Yet to borrow from Shakespeare, hell is definitely empty, and all the (Atlanticist) devils are here.

«I hate to hear “I told you so” and here I am using those words.

As readers know, I have been concerned for many years that Russia’s toleration of endless insults and provocations would continue to encourage more and worst provocations until red lines are crossed that result in direct conflict between the two major nuclear powers. All these years the Kremlin, unable to understand, or to accept, that its role as Washington’s enemy #1 was set in stone, relied on a strategy of zero to minimal responses in order to undercut the image of a dangerous and aggressive Russia set on restoring the Soviet Empire.
This diplomatic strategy, like Russia’s Ukraine strategy, has completely failed.
The Kremlin’s disastrous Ukraine strategy began when the Kremlin paid more attention to the Sochi Olympics than it did to Washington’s overthrow of the Ukraine government. The Kremlin’s mistakes were put on an accelerating path when the Kremlin refused the Donbass’ request to be reunited with Russia like the former Russian province of Crimea. This left the Donbass Russians, formerly a part of Russia, to suffer persecution by Ukraine’s Nazi militias, shelling of civilian areas, and partial occupation by Ukrainian forces from 2014 until February, 2022 when the Russian Army began clearing Donbass of Ukrainian forces in order to prevent a prepared Ukrainian invasion of the Donbass republics. Having waited 8 years to act, the Kremlin now faced a large, western trained and equipped army plus fanatical Nazi regiments.
One would have thought that by this time the Kremlin would have learned from its extraordinary mistakes and realized that, finally, it needed to demonstrate that it was provoked. Without any question, what was called for was a Russian attack that closed down Ukraine, destroying the government, all civilian infrastructure and ending the conflict immediately. Instead, the Kremlin compounded its mistakes. It announced a limited intervention, the purpose of which was to clear Ukrainian forces out of Donbass. It left the government and civilian infrastructure of its enemy untouched, thereby enabling its enemy to resist the intervention on highly favorable terms.
To be clear, there is no doubt that the Russians can clear Donbass of Ukrainian forces and have about completed the task. The Kremlin’s mistake was not realizing that the West would not permit the intervention to be limited.
The Kremlin warned the West about interfering in the operation, declaring that if the US and NATO got involved, Russia would regard those countries as “combatants.” But the West got involved, slowly and carefully at first to test the waters and then more and more aggressively as what the West originally expected would be at most a week long conflict is now in its seventh month with the Kremlin again talking about negotiation with Zelensky and the Russian advance apparently on hold. Far from treating the NATO countries as combatants, the Kremlin still provides Europe with energy to the extent that Europe permits Russia to do so. High Russian officials have spoken as if proving Russia to be a reliable energy supplier is more important than the lives of its soldiers fighting against western trained and equipped Ukraine forces supplied by European countries whose armaments industries are running on Russian energy.
I correctly predicted that Russian half measures would result in the widening of the war.
The correctness of my analysis has now been confirmed by a report in The Hill, a Washington publication read by insiders. Here is the opening sentence of the report and some excerpts:
“The Biden administration is arming Ukraine with weapons that can do serious damage to Russian forces, and, unlike early in the war, U.S. officials don’t appear worried about Moscow’s reaction.”
“’Over time, the administration has recognized that they can provide larger, more capable, longer-distance, heavier weapons to the Ukrainians and the Russians have not reacted,’ former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor told The Hill.
“’The Russians have kind of bluffed and blustered, but they haven’t been provoked. And there was concern [over this] in the administration early on — there still is to some degree — but the fear of provoking the Russians has gone down,’ added Taylor, who is now with the U.S. Institute of Peace.”
“’We were a bit more careful at first … not knowing if Putin would find and attack supply lines and convoys, not being sure if he would escalate, and also not being sure if Ukraine could use what we have [given] them or hold out for long against Russia,’ said Michael O’Hanlon, a military analyst at the Washington, D.C.-based think tank Brookings Institution.”
“Since June, the U.S. has steadily been increasing High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems to the country, which American service members have trained Ukrainian troops to use in batches.
“Looking ahead, multiple reports have indicated that the U.S. plans to soon send Excalibur precision-guided artillery munitions — weapons that can travel up to 70 kilometers and would help the Ukrainians target dug-in Russian positions and command posts.
“Part of the shift in messaging can be attributed to the fact Kyiv defied international expectations and did not quickly fall when Russia first attacked, according to Nathan Sales, a former State Department official who most recently served as the acting undersecretary for civilian security, democracy and human rights.”
As I said would be the case, the Kremlin’s limited operation was seen in the West as a half measure that provided the West with the opportunity to widen the war. Now with winter approaching the conflict is widening with shipments of long range powerful weapons capable of attacking Donbass, Crimea, and other parts of Russia from western Ukraine that was spared Russian invasion.
As I also said would be the case, by lengthening the war with its go-slow tactics in order to minimize civilian casualties, a noble intent, Russia gave the West the opportunity to characterize the Russian intervention as running out of steam from exhausted munitions and high Russian casualties. The picture of Russian failure has had the effect I expected of making the West more confident about its combatant role. Here are excerpts from The Hill’s report confirming that:
“Another part of the equation: Recent intelligence that indicates Russia is feeling the sting of Western-imposed sanctions and a military service force that is dwindling in power as the war wears on.
“Last month, Reuters reported that major Russian airlines such as Aeroflot have grounded their planes so they can be stripped for spare parts, taking components from some of their planes to keep others airworthy.
“And facing losses on the battlefield, Putin last month sought to boost Russia’s combat personnel by more than 130,000 troops by eliminating the upper age limit for new recruits and encouraging prisoners to join.
“U.S. officials think the effort is ‘unlikely to succeed.’”
“Taken altogether, the intelligence paints a picture of a country [Russia] struggling to maintain its own institutions, much less fire back at Western nations for aiding Ukraine.
“’I think the instincts of the people in the departments and agencies, particularly State and Defense and the intelligence community, I think their instincts are to be more forward leaning and more aggressive,’” one former senior government official said.
“’We have a lot more space on our side, I think, to take actions that will assist Ukraine without being unjustifiably afraid of how Putin is going to respond,’ they added.”
One can reason that the Kremlin made all these mistakes because it did not want to scare more of Europe into NATO by demonstrating its military prowess in a lightening conquest of Ukraine. But it is Russia’s halfway measures that have given Finland and Sweden the confidence to join NATO as they see no threat to themselves from being NATO members. A devastating Russian blow to Ukraine would have caused all of Europe to rethink NATO membership as no European country would want to face the prospect of war with Russia. Instead, what the Kremlin has produced is a British prime minister who is prepared to engage Russia in nuclear war, and a NATO that intends to keep the Ukrainian conflict going.
A careless or hostile reader might conclude from my article that I am an advocate of Russian military success. To the contrary, I am an advocate of minimizing the risk of nuclear war. Steven Cohen and I are the two who from the beginning saw how Washington’s interference in Ukraine with the overthrow of the government charted a course that could end in nuclear Armageddon. Cohen was reviled by his own liberal-left, and I was declared a “Putin dupe/agent.”
The name calling we suffered proved our point. The Western world is blind to the potential consequences of its provocations of Russia, and the Kremlin is blind to the potential consequences of its toleration of provocations. As we can see, neither side has yet come to this realization. The Hill’s report demonstrates the correctness of my analysis of the situation and my prediction that the outcome would be a widening of the war and a greater likelihood of miscalculations that could result in nuclear war. »

Augusto de Santa Rita, a sua sensibilidade e os contextos e efeitos das revistas em que participou, dirigiu ou fundou: a Águia, Exílio, Pim Pam Pum, e A Risota.

                                                   

Quando  contemplamos o percurso de Augusto de Santa Rita (1888-1956), discernimos um artista, um poeta dotado de grande sensibilidade e capacidade de escrita impactante e que vibra com as lutas da sua época, nas quais o  simbolismo, o saudosismo, o modernismo e o futurismo se alternam nas almas mais despertas, mais vanguardistas, levando-as lutar contra um meio ambiente bastante limitado e logo algo opressivo, e em que o culto das artes e belas letras estava reduzido a poucos, e em geral mais conservadores e sem o sopro criativo desassossegado da nova geração. 

A luta da chamada geração coimbrã de 1870, liderada por Antero de Quental, realista e revolucionária, contra os formalistas, românticos e do elogio mútuo, chefiados por António Feliciano Castilho, denominada Questão do Bom Senso e do Bom Gosto, não terminara ainda e algo dessa continuidade vemos nos ataques seja de Almada Negreiros a Júlio Dantas, ou de Fernando Pessoa a António Correia de Oliveira, o poeta de Belinho (nome da sua casa em Esposende), como lhe chamou o poeta da Mensagem.

 Augusto de Santa Rita, nascido e vivendo em Lisboa, sendo da mesma idade (1888) que Fernando Pessoa e convivendo nos mesmos cafés e tertúlias, estava bem a par do que se passava e se não surge na revista Orpheu, por motivos de escolha dos colaboradores e mais por Luís Montalvor do que Fernando Pessoa, e talvez por não ser tão provocador e europeísta-modernista,   logo no ano seguinte, em 1916, lança a revista Exilio, mais eclética e moderada, nos colaboradores e artigos, mas na qual o próprio Fernando Pessoa se vai abrigar ou incluir, gorada que estava a aventura dos dois números de Orpheu, mas não com a verve esperançosa perdida, já que não só publica pela 1ª vez na revista o poema a Hora Absurda, como escreve na parte final dois textos de grande importância enquanto teorizador e chefe de fila do movimento modernista lisboeta, por ele denominado ainda de sensacionismo e que apresenta como esotérico e dinamizador da alma portuguesa...

Para Fernando Pessoa tal era a continuação superlativa e triunfadora da sua passagem pela revista Águia, em que se profetizara como o novo Super Camões, mas onde não fora tão bem acolhido (e onde Augusto Santa Rita também colaborara, em 1912 e 1913),  e que tivera o seu auge na Orpheu enquanto independência em relação às linhas mais rurais e tradicionalistas, mais metafisicas e religiosas que pontificavam em Teixeira de Pascoaes e de algum modo em Leonardo Coimbra, os dois líderes intelectuais da revista, embora tal corte e independência tivesse sido também gerado pela não publicação dum texto de Pessoa, recusada por Álvaro Pinto, o director e proprietário inicial da revista, que se publicaria com direcções e séries sucessivas, de 1910 a 1932, sem dúvida com a Revista Portugal, Orpheu e a Presença, as quatro revistas literárias mais profundas e importantes dos séc. XIX e XX.

                                                           

Em verdade o ideário do movimento da Renascença Portuguesa e da sua revista Águia tinha sido uma tentativa de exprimir sem limitações formais (por vezes já com laivos modernistas, tal na colaboração de Augusto de Santa Rita e de Pessoa) o Amor, a Sabedoria, a Beleza, à Justiça, cultivados e ligados à Terra, ao Céu, à Mulher, à família, a Portugal, ao Divino, este tanto com os seus espíritos da natureza, anjos, deuses do panteísmo como com as pessoas do Cristianismo.

Ora as primeiras obras de Augusto de Santa Rita, antes até da revista Exílio, mostram-no um poeta de grande lirismo, tanto humano como religioso, cheio de aspiração mística e espiritual e senhor de uma linguagem rica e expressiva, com amplo uso de símbolos e de intersecionismos de planos de consciência e do espaço e do tempo, arte que manifestou com grande capacidade, por exemplo, na revista Exílio e no Auto da Vida Eterna, neste merecendo elogios fortes de Fernando Pessoa, e nas Praias de Mistério, talvez devedoras das numerosas vezes que terá contemplado o mar e as praias de S. João do Estoril, então uma zona apenas de Natureza pura e sem casas, e com um potencial tremendo, e que poderão tê-lo intensificado nos seus sonhos de transformação psíquica e espiritual, em que aliás tanto ele como Fernando Pessoa muito se envolveram e que Pessoa manifestou sobretudo em três cartas, à tia Anica, a Armando Côrtes-Rodrigues e a Mário Sá Carneiro. Acrescente-se que  Fernando Pessoa  frequentava também esta zona da orla marítima, seja a casa dos Santa Rita, seja mais tarde a dos seus primos Freitas da Costa.

Esta sensibilidade e espiritualidade de Augusto de Santa Rita, que ele tanto sentia forte e sinceramente em si como também na nova geração literária, a qual ele, na sua magnífica Justificação da revista Exílio, chega a designar colectiva, grupal ou geracionalmente por "um novo Cristo", e expressão que significa "ungido", algo que eles eram e cultivavam, nunca foi compreendida pelos críticos literários e ensaístas posteriores nos seus intelectualismos racionalistas e destituídos de sensibilidade espiritual, tendo Augusto de Santa Rita recebido por isso algumas desvalorizações graves, em especial na pecha do nacionalismo, tal como podemos ver no prefácio (infeliz, de Teresa Almeida) da reedição pelas edições Contexto da revista Exílio, ou em artigos e livros sobre Simbolismo, Saudosismo, Modernismo, Futurismo, que seguem as mesmos trilhos na areia...

Essa sua alta e fina sensibilidade até intuitiva, por vezes claramente consciente da anima mundi, da alma das coisas,

 

«A Alma das coisas existe!

Ora é alegre ora é triste;

Existe! Amor, acredita!»

do corpo subtil astral, e com manifestos sinais de clarividência interior, está pois presente em muita da obra de Augusto de Santa Rita, nomeadamente até nos livros e revistas para crianças, que não devem ser reduzidos a moralismos do Estado Novo, como nesse prefácio se escreve, pois na famosa revista Pim Pam Pum, nascida em 1926 e durante quinze anos, até 1940,  magnificamente dirigida por Augusto de Santa Rita, ele publicou numeroso e valiosos contos e poemas, bem ilustrados por artistas das novas gerações de então, e abandonou-a apenas porque separando-se de Graciette Branco, a jovem colaboradora que se tornara a sua mulher, durante 11 anos, e de quem nascera um filho, sentiu que deveria passar a novos projectos e publicações, que se concretizaram no famoso Teatro do Mestre Gil, na apologia do Teatro dos Fantoches como instrumento de cultura, na Cartilha Visual, para o ensino pré-primário, e num Poema de Lisboa, publicado já postumamente.

Que Augusto de Santa Rita não vivia numa obediência a directrizes salazaristas e antes seguia e partilhava natural e sabiamente, e de modo acessível e divertido às crianças, a sua ética e pedagogia como resultado de uma consciência profunda do valor do belo, do bem e do verdadeiro, e logo da justiça, da compaixão e da solidariedade, podemos comprovar  em 1939 quando, fundando a revista A Risota, publica no sexto e último número, apreendido pela Censura,  uma caricatura muito forte do Mussolini, como um buldogue. As consequências foram fortes numa certa destituição de cargos que exercia, mas que posteriormente reaveu quando provou que não queria provocar problemas nas relações com a Itália O neto de Augusto de Santa Rita, o Guilherme, investigou até na Torre do Tombo o processo da Censura e pode aprofundar o sucedido, destacando que o António Ferro e Salvação Barreto foram as testemunhas abonatórias.

Que múltiplos efeitos teve a revista Pim Pam Pum em milhares e milhares de crianças, já que acompanhava a edição de Quinta de um dos jornais mais lidos da época, O Século, (1880-1977), que por vezes esgotava nesses dias, é impossível discernir, pois não houve inquéritos sociológicos, éticos ou culturais, ou estudos sobre os sonhos e ideais das crianças que a leram ao longo dos anos, mas certamente devem ter sido muitos e bons, estimulantes, formadores e harmonizadores, holísticos mesmo, com as charadas, passatempos, concursos, tão bem ilustrados, e por isso devemos considerar como muito actual e necessária, nestes tempos de forçada desumanização neoliberal globalista, a publicação de uma antologia do que melhor se publicou nessa mítica revista infanto-juvenil, e que o seu neto Guilherme Santa Rita aspira a realizar...
Que assim aconteça ou seja:

Heart bleeding, heart in aspiration, heart in serenity. Divine source in us, being in Love, the holy Grail...

My heart is many times bleeding. I don't know why. 

Is it a kind of a stream of blood running in aspiration for union? Probably...

Is it an excess of love? Is it a need of loving? Is it just the spiritual presence in me? Or is it indeed a wish and aspiration for fulfilment?

But we may admit that could be also some fair person remembered or loved in my soul, time to time germinating in my consciousness, and making me feel that inner stream or even secret affinity and so awakening in me the feeling of movement towards Love?

But is it really Love or is just aspiration, wish, longing for a stronger or deeper state of love?

I would say they are just rays of love springing from the inner deep source, or going out and to certain beings, or even to God, as sometimes we feel and express by some devout ot mystical utterances as: - My God, My God, I love you...

Let us suppose that this inner bleeding is specially a wish of union with the beloved one. But from where springs this memory, wish, aspiration?

Is it from my true self, or just from the pool of memory, or only from the personality, with his affinities, wishes, needs, desires, or even from a deep aspiration for the binding in love with the beloved one, human or divine?

Some times is just a feeling and aspiration, other times it seems a recollection, a concentrated fire coming out from the soul. 

But who knows, from the spiritual being in us and from the ocean of memories, feelings and wishes, with so many waves and currents, from where, and why, it sprang that  feeling, or remembrance, that make us feel that kind of arrow trespassing our chest or, better, this inner opening by the rays and currents of the heart?

Our small understanding of the subtle heart and of the many levels of memories and wishes operating in us all the time, make difficult the task of ascertaining from what part of our soul it originates, or with which interconnections or even ressonating feelings of love from other beings in the Cosmos it grows, as we are all the time irradiating our inner blueprints of being and loving and so, in certain ways, communicating with the ones of our spiritual inner group or family, or even with the twin soul, and guides...

As our soul is not easily seen, understood, realized, it is really difficult to discern, without hard work of meditation, self awareness and grace, from what profundity and  origins  these aspirations, feelings and rays of love and gratitude arise...

Sometimes is not so much bleeding of love in aspiration or outburst but it is just peace and serenity that is there inside and flowing, not matter how much we love or are loved, no matter the world is in peace or war: the spiritual heart just shines through us, in us...

Probably because the creativeness of the spiritual soul, the eagerness to the knowledge and truth in us and the peace of the awareness of the Unity are at the same level with Love, and all these expand us in  deeper and wider dimensions of Reality and so the heart aflame is the right ground or chalice for giving birth to our best actions, feelings, sentiments, intuitions and realizations.

So, even if you can't discern the level of the Love in you, and  how much sentiments and  thoughts arise pure and free from it, still accept all the currents, streams or drops of the Cosmic Ocean of Love that come out through your heart and soul and be happy to be aware of them, or even amplify and direct them, and give graces because the Divine Being is our deep insondable intimate source, and when our heart is bleeding the aspiration to commune more with Him-Her, or with your friends or with the beloved one, or with Justice and Truth, is enlivened. 

And so sometimes the inner ocean of Love is just discernment, peace and so the light and love of the inner presence is more felt and specialy the communion with the beloved, either the polar being, either the master, the angel or the personnal God, happens, and so is not more the bleeding of the unknown arrow trespassing our chest and heart but it is the fire of Love in shared bounds, and the awareness of the common fruits of Love and Unity shining.

Still sometimes by the lonely night, or when feeling hunger of the body or soul, facing so much injustice, opression and suffering in the world, the aspiration to God's Love grows and our heart's veins bleed, and the sacred blood expresses it self sometimes  in words of prayers or singing of mantras, and then we become really more knights of the Holy Grail, aflame with that strenght, aspiration and communion, in the mystical or subtle body of Mankind, with the spiritual rays of the heart of the Divine Love...

                             

Soares dos Passos: o "Noivado do Sepulcro", lido e comentado por Pedro Teixeira da Mota. Com o elogio por Antero de Quental.

Este poema, o Noivado do Sepulcro, foi um dos que, em jovem de 12 ou 13 anos, me impressionou suficientemente para ficar como um mito poético dentro de mim para sempre. Passadas algumas décadas, há dias, li-o de novo pela 1ª vez e gravei tal leitura, brevemente comentando-a, e poderá ouvi-la na ligação ao Youtube. Destacarei agora só a beleza perene, goticizante ou ultra-romântica, com que o poeta portuense Soares dos Passos  cria um ambiente inicial de culto da grande paz entre a noite e a morte, num silencioso cemitério à meia noite e sob os eflúvios da lua e do piar dos mochos, e  justifica-o animicamente e ritmiza-o com a antítese da vida instável com os seus vaivéns da sorte e a paz tranquila de quem ali descansa, se não for movido pelo Amor todo poderoso, que Dante com Beatriz sentiu em si e entreviu na Anima Mundi ou no Cosmos divino...

 Contudo, alguém admitido no seio do mundo das sombras, parece estar sofrendo pois, depositado o seu corpo há três dias na tumba, ainda não foi a sua alma alentada com a visita da amada viva, pelo que fantasma se ergue, caminha e se lamenta, quase chorando, da fugacidade ilusória do amor e das suas promessas...      

Esta balada de encantar do amor que vence a morte, que ressoa os rimances populares antigos, foi glosada por muitos poetas, em sucessivas escolas e épocas, e mencionaremos como dos mais brilhantes Antero de Quental, e foi recriada por Soares dos Passos, um poeta que, tuberculoso desde novo, foi levado a sentir mais fortemente a tragédia dos amores que não se concretizam na terra e nos corpos, e compôs alguns poemas sobre a superação de tal dilaceramento, o mais notável sendo este. 

Certamente que os sonetos de Antero de Quental receberão bastante maior fortuna imortalizadora, sendo ainda hoje estudados nas escolas públicas. E contudo, Soares dos Passos, igualmente fino poeta amante da noite e da morte, e ainda do amor que se sente e deseja imortal, morrera ainda mais novo que Antero, com  33 anos apenas, qual outro Cristo, embora sem a vasta genialidade de Antero que ainda chegou aos 7x7, 49 anos, ultimando a sua obra poética e filosófica, e finalizando-a com o selo de mártir, insatisfeito no suicídio.

Soares dos Passos (27.XI.1826-1860) formara-se em Direito em Coimbra, era de uma família de liberais (versus absolutistas), e sentia fortemente os ideais do conhecimento, da liberdade, do amor da fraternidade, tudo como Antero de Quental, e colaborara em algumas publicações periódicas literárias, tais como o Bardo, a Grinalda, o Novo Trovador,  dando à luz em 1861 o seu único livro, Poesia. Três anos depois apenas,  a Parca cortou-lhe o fio de prata do corpo e enviou a sua alma ultra-sensível para o além, no qual ele acreditava e para o qual se preparara e onde chegou jovem mas,, certamente, luminosamente

Ora Antero de Quental, na sua genialidade e excentricidade tão real e activa como legendária e mítica, provavelmente consciente das sensibilidades e afinidades que os uniam, soube já no fim da sua vida, a uns meses de partir (Setembro de 1891), escrever um elogio bem merecido de Soares de Passos, em cuja obra perpassa claramente a fraternidade poética, romântica e até revolucionária, bem patente noutros poemas nos quais canta com a lira da justiça e do amor, a irmandade, a revolução, o novo mundo.

A carta onde encontramos manifestado o elo de amor dos dois poetas, plenos de sensibilidade, idealismo, é dirigida ao tradutor sueco Göran Bjorkmann, que lhe pedira informações sobre a literatura contemporânea portuguesa, e foi escrita em francês a 12 de Abril de 1891, da Rua da Fé, nº12, Lisboa. Dela  traduzimos este excerto: «Vou-lhe indicar os nomes e as obras mais notáveis. O poeta por excelência é João de Deus:os seus dois volumes intitulam-se Flores do Campo e Campos de Flores. Depois, vem Tomás Ribeiro, que conheceis: além D. Jaime, publicou vários volumes de versos, mas D. Jaime é sem dúvida o que fez de melhor. Depois vem Guerra Junqueiro: a sua obra Morte de D. João é muito desigual, mas é contudo bem notável, e, no meu sentir, superior à sua outra obra Velhice do Padre Eterno, onde imita muito Victor Hugo, no que Victor Hugo tem de pior. Um poeta encantador e original, morto muito recentemente e bem jovem, é Gonçalves Crespo: o seu volumezinho Miniaturas far-vos-á prazer, estou certo. Recomendo-vos também Soares dos Passos, cujo volume tem o título modesto de Poesias: o seu autor morreu, há 15 anos, mas o livro permanece popular, e ele merece-o.» Oiçamos então o poema por mim lido:

               

                O NOIVADO DO SEPULCRO

BALADA


Vai alta a lua! na mansão da morte
Já meia noite com vagar soou;
Que paz tranquila! dos vaivéns da sorte
Só tem descanso quem ali baixou.


Que paz tranquila!... mas eis longe, ao longe
Funérea campa com fragor rangeu;
Branco fantasma, semelhando um monge,
Dentre os sepulcros a cabeça ergueu.


Ergueu-se, ergueu-se!... na amplidão celeste
Campeia a lua com sinistra luz;
O vento geme no feral cipreste,
O mocho pia na marmórea cruz.


Ergueu-se, ergueu-se! com sombrio espanto
Olhou em roda... não achou ninguém...
Por entre as campas, arrastando o manto,
Com lentos passos caminhou além.


Chegando perto uma cruz alçada,
Que entre os ciprestes alvejava ao fim,
Parou, sentou-se, e com a voz magoada
Os ecos tristes acordou assim:

«E que na tumba não cessei d'amar,

E ao som dos pios do cantor funéreo,
E à luz da lua de sinistro alvor,
Junto ao cruzeiro, sepulcral mistério
Foi celebrado, d'infeliz amor.


Quando risonho despontava o dia,
Já desse drama nada havia então,
Mais que uma tumba funeral vazia,
Quebrada a lousa por ignota mão.


Porém mais tarde, quando foi volvido
Das sepulturas o gelado pó,
Dois esqueletos, um ao outro unido,
Foram achados num sepulcro só.»

Se o poema é de algum modo autobiográfico, e se eram almas gémeas ou apenas almas poderosas que, na sua atracção recíproca, mesmo já em corpos espirituais, até os corpos já falecidos moveram, só a alma imaginal de Soares dos Passos nos poderá dizer, mas aí está a balada, atravessando os séculos e ainda hoje comovendo os fiéis da Mors-Amor, tal como Antero de Quental em soneto ímpar imortalizou.

 

Muita Luz e Amor Divinos neles e suas amadas!

Jacques de Marquette, pioneiro do vegetarianismo e naturismo, dentista e doutorado em filosofia e letras, o sábio da Panharmonia.

Em 23 de Abril de 1888, dois meses antes de Fernando Pessoa, nascia em França, em Paris, Jacques de Marquette. Será em 1904 que toma conhecimento do vegetarianismo, através de um livro de judo que atribuía à abstenção de carne a grande força e resistência dos judocas japoneses, e em 1905 que se torna vegetariano, realçando o impacto consciencial da leitura dum livro de Daniel Foward, que condenava os sofrimentos desnecessários dos animais e referia muitos  vegetarianos valiosos. Continuando os seus estudos, em 1907, licenciou-se como cirurgião dentista pela Faculdade de Medicina de Paris, e foi tentando compreender melhor os efeitos dos alimentos nas psiques e  comportamentos humanos, empenhando-se numa luta de esclarecimento. Funda então a primeira sociedade naturista em França, Le Trait d'Union, em 1911 e é um dos co-fundadores dos Escoteiros em França. Participa como oficial  na 1ª grande Guerra e logo que paz começou a sorrir na ruralidade francesa   organizou o 1º campo e parque de campismo naturista em França, em Chevreuse, em 1920, e cujo programa começava às 5 da manhã com a aula de ginástica que dava e terminava às 22:00 com os cantos  que dirigia. Em 1922, mantendo a chama ardente do conhecimento viva, licencia-se em Filosofia. E em 1924, funda a 1ª cooperativa naturista Trait d'Union (que teve quatro restaurantes em Paris e cinco filiais na província). Em 1925  diploma-se em Estudos Superiores e em 1928 doutora-se em Letras. E funda ainda nesse ano o 1º congresso Universal da Juventude, em Ommen, Holanda.  A sua mulher e companheira na demanda da Panharmonia foi Phyllis de Marquette (1902-1971), uma norte-americana professora de Psicologia, embora quando se casasse por paixão já tivesse quarenta anos muito castos.

Será um espiritual bem activo, licenciado em medicina e filosofia,  vegetariano e estudioso da espiritualidade comparada, nomeadamente a indiana, tendo ensinado  Religiões Comparadas no Lowel Institute de Chicago e proferido conferências em dezenas de instituições e países. Esteve na Índia sete vezes, em vários ashrams, nomeadamente no do Mahatma Gandhi e  no do Guru Ranade, em Nimbal (neste em Dezembro 1954 e tendo tanto ele como a sua mulher sido iniciados por guru Ranade, e deixou várias obras valiosas, tais como a Introduction à la Mystique comparée,  Confessions d'un mystique contemporain, Santé et Progrès, assurés par l'Alimentation Naturelle, base universelle du Yoga - Manuel pratique d'Higiène Alimentaire et de Cuisine Vegetarienne  (onde realça a importância da mastigação, pois é ela que prepara a assimilação), Les septs Raisons du Vegetarianisme (Hygiene, Economie et Morale de l'Alimentation), 1934, De l'Âme au Esprit (título  igualmente do meu último livro, Da Alma ao Espírito, 2015).

  No L'Avenir de l'Âme dans la Pensée Orientale, de 1951,  descreve as concepções principais da alma no Ocidente, dos Egípcios e Gregos a Charles Renouvier (realçando a equiparação por este da mónada criativa à persona, donde o personalismo com que Jacques de Marquette se identificou), e do Oriente, aprofundando bem a metafísica dos vários corpo e planos do universo, baseado nos textos tradicionais indianos, das Upanishads às Puranas Vaishnavas, realizando ainda uma original equiparação do personalismo divino ocidental com a Ishta devata, a divindade pessoal na compreensão íntima ou esotérica indiana.

 De destacar a sua tradução do livro do seu guru indiano Ranade intitulada La Spiritualité dans l'oeuvre de Gandhi.   Anote-se que Gandhi, com quem se encontrara, em 1930 dera o seu patrocínio à associação da Panharmonie, por ser um elo entre o Ocidente e o Oriente, e porque seguia os princípios da ahimsa, não-violência, nomeadamente o vegetarianismo, que Marquette considerava "a ponte entre a harmonia no plano físico e aquela dos planos mais elevados da moral, já que preserva o ser humano do massacre quotidiano de milhões de animais inocentes".  Quanto ao plano do espírito, o acesso a ele obter-se-ia pela harmonização da nossa vida com as Leis Universais, que contêm uma ética sã e implicam da nossa parte um trabalho de auto-aperfeiçoamento, nomeadamente através da meditação.  

Acrescente-se apenas que os membros da Panharmonia eram convidados a realizar "curtas meditações de manhã, ao meio do dia e ao fim da tarde, antes das refeições, durante as quais se uniam pelo pensamento à união de todo o nosso grupo com a essência sagrada do Universo. Preparam-se assim para se tornarem canais eficazes, pela sua consagração, para a transmissão ao mundo da Paz e da Luz do Alto."

A sua Association Internationale Panharmonie corporizava tanto um ideal como métodos baseado no naturismo, humanismo e personalismo, e  organizava banquetes e reuniões quinzenais, com conferências e meditações (orientadas por ele), e editava obras e uma revista mensal valiosa de espiritualidade universal, já que para Jacques de Marquette a apreciação do património intelectual e espiritual da Humanidade era base mais segura de uma paz universal.  Explicou abreviadamente assim: «A Panharmonia não é só um ideal de vida-em conformidade com as leis do Universo. É também um programa de realização deste ideal na vida dos indivíduos e das sociedades, acima da divisão humana em nações, raças e religiões (...) Sendo a procura da felicidade  o fim primordial da actividade humana, é importante compreender-se bem a natureza fundamenta desta demanda evitando confundir-se felicidade com prazer.»  E considerando que a felicidade maior ou menor depende do desenvolvimento das nossas qualidades, Jacques de Marquette, na sua Panharmonie, recomendava a eliminação sistemática do que nos enfraquece e degrada e, simultaneamente, o cultivo das nossas mais elevadas qualidades, através "do desenvolvimento de todas as causas de saúde e de progresso físico, intelectual e espiritual".

Viveu até 22 de Agosto de 1968, oitenta anos bem profundos e dinâmicos.

No livro  Des Hounzas aux Yogis. Du régime des centenaires à celui des grands initiés, 2ª ediçao de 1966,  mostra a importância exemplar do estilo de vida e alimentação do povo Hounza e confessará alguns aspectos biográficos, tal  o ter sido o fundador da primeira sociedade naturista em França, em 1911, e que estivera na Índia quatro das sete vezes mais prolongadamente, em vários ashrams: E pelo que foi discernindo, desvaloriza, como lemos nessa obra, o Hatha Yoga, ou seja, as práticas meramente físicas das posturas e, explicaremos nós, quando não estão inseridas numa demanda espiritual, que normalmente é a da ashtanga Yoga, a yoga ou união dos oito membros ou Raja Yoga, e valoriza mais os Bhakta Yogis, os que seguem a via da adoração, e vivem quase dias inteiros absortos no amor ardente pelo objecto da sua devoção, geralmente um dos aspectos de Vishnu, e também os Raja Yogis, que fazem "ascetismos fortes para desenvolverem a sua vontade e aumentarem o seu império sobre o corpo e as paixões que nele se apoiam" de modo a assim controlarem os "pensamentos materialistas, os maiores entraves à manifestação da  Presença divina na nossa vida, à activação do "Reino dos Céus" que está em nós, os quais nos fazem esquecer a nossa  filiação divina".  

É esta luta que diariamente todos os que praticam a meditação devem tentar estar mais conscientes, de modo a que, persistindo no trilhar do Caminho ao longo dos dias e anos, possam  interiorizar-se o suficiente para começarem a sentir  ocasionalmente o espírito, o atman, que está neles, ou a verem a sua Luz, ou receberem intuições, ou sentirem a sua felicidade, ananda, certamente merecendo-a também por uma vida justa, sábia, amorosa, corajosa, panharmoniosa... 

Saibamos em maior contacto com a Natureza e com uma alimentação mais vegetariana e biológica, vivermos harmoniosamente com Pan, o todo, ou seja, em Panharmonia, de modo a que, escapando à opressiva manipulação dos media e à mentalidade materialista e superficial que se tem generalizado, possa a anima mundi ou o campo unificado de energia informação  ser comungado criativa e holisticamente para o bem de Todos. E saudemos a alma ou personalidade espiritual de Jacques de Marquette e os seus mestres Ananda Coomaraswamy, Paul Masson Oursel e Guru Ranade.
